The 6th edition of the ‘FAC Melange’ organized by Creative Arts Committee begun under the theme ‘Alchemy of Art’ at Fazl Ali College. The Melange previously called September Melange is a three day event and is one of the biggest and most awaited event of the College celebrating creativity, skill and talent where there is display of ingenuity and love for art. The inaugural programme saw the music club of the college igniting creativity with a musical cultural fusion. Mr. Asensor Jamir, Vice President FACSU gave the prologue and invited everyone present specially the students to discover new passions and embrace creativity. A teachers’ exhibition debate on the topic “The Nagaland liquor Total Prohibition Act, 1989 should be repealed” was witnessed where the teachers, students and invitees were enlightened. The principal on the occasion released ‘Coll Buzz’, a newsletter, which is an initiative of the Department of English and declared the ‘FAC Melange’ open.
This years Melange includes competitions like painting, acapella, performance poetry, face makeover, FAC got talent, cosplay, musical recitation, photography workshop and battle of bands to mention a few. Upcycled scrap art is one activity which began a week before the event sponsored and mentored by Eco Club, FAC to not only prepare the students for the competition but to encourage and promote reusability. Stalls, exhibition and sales are a part of the event managed by students of different departments including the Alumni of the College.
